Really, I started work two days ago (though to be honest I feel as if I've been working all summer). But the first official day of school is next week, so this weekend can definitely be considered a farewell to summer. So, what exactly am I saying goodbye to?
- Sleeping in (oh how I will miss you)
- Eating whatever and whenever (taking multiple milkshakes throughout the day)
- Wearing pajamas for half the day
- Wearing outfits like this (goodbye jeans and crop tops which are not student-friendly)
I can't think of anymore right now or maybe my brain is trying to hide the more painful farewells from me. But negativity aside, I really am excited to get to work (werk?). I've been excitedly decorating my classroom and creating the syllabus (hooray American lit!) and now I can't wait to meet my scholars and really produce some extraordinary results.
So summer? You were great, never change, etc, but now it's time to hit the ground running. Let's do this!
