One of the top items on our bucket list was going to Kew Gardens. London is a wonderful city, I think, because it has so many green spaces. I can almost guarantee that there's a park within walking distance of any hotel you might book in London! They're so lovely to just happen upon or stroll through, but if you're looking for a bit more of a garden feel, then Kew Gardens will give it to you ten times over! I think we underestimated how huge a place it is! It's also about a thirty minute cab ride (at least) outside of the city, but the town it's in is adorable (and has a very yummy lunch spot called the Cricketeer!). There's also the option of taking a boat to Kew Gardens down the Thames! We did that on the way back, but I'll admit it was long (over an hour and a half), cold, and made me very sleepy.

The gardens are actually the Royal Botanical gardens, so it's very classy and orderly. There are different sections depending on what you want to see, including a greenhouse for tropical plants (pictured above), a section just for roses, a treetop walkway, and even a larger-than-life beehive that educates you on all things apiary! Now obviously I am all about bees here on The Style Hive but I have some bee-phobic friends and family so we didn't quite make it there (I also think it's for kids mainly?). That didn't stop me from petting every bumblebee I saw among the flowers!! Fuzzy little buddies!! Sadly none of them were fooled by my sneakers, although I was pretty happy I got to wear them in such a floral-friendly place.

Anyway, I highly recommend a visit to the Kew Gardens if you're in London! They have student discounts, too! I can imagine that the gardens would be equally as beautiful in the fall, and I'm jealous that my good friend Sarah (who came with us) gets to go back in just a few months. I'm going to post a whole separate slew of photos showing off the colors of Kew Gardens next!

Thanks for visiting!
