I always find shopping for my friends during the holidays to be the easiest out of anyone - basically I think about what I'd want, and then buy that in multiple colors haha. There's also the option of all the various gift sets that come out this time - makeup and nail polish and jewelry. But sometimes I feel like I'm cheating just buying something pre-packaged like that (though I did include one or two on this list!). Of course it's always more special when you can get something really personalized, which is why I love that the plaid scarf on top can be monogrammed (for free!). For more individual-specific gifts, I like to go to Etsy and find unique items tailored to their interests. But seeing as I'd be happy to receive any of the above as gifts, I think my gal pals would too (and yours?).
