Got to get all gussied up! And celebrate my Irish heritage on a day besides St. Patrick's Day! (Though let's be real, I'm celebrating being Irish everyday.) This was all for a gala put on by my local Irish-American society. Besides being a fun excuse to get all dressed up, it was also so interesting to hear about the ways in which the society supports small businesses in the west of Ireland. Now if only I could figure out a way to take my students there on a field trip...

Ok now about the dress!! When I heard the words "Irish" and "gala" of course an elegant dark green dress came to mind. I had no idea I would be so lucky as to find this perfect one while I was visiting Chicago. On a whim I searched on Anthropologie's website for a formal dress that might fit my vision, and this BHLDN number popped up. There happened to be a BHLDN shop right around from our hotel, so my mom and I stopped in, tried on this one dress, got it, and I was good to go. Well, then I borrowed my mom's emerald necklace and drool-worthy Gucci purse, and then I was good to go. Éirinn go Brách!
