A throwback to happier times, AKA about four days ago.
I feel a lot of heavy darkness around me. Of course I also feel some silliness then in posting "pretty pictures" on my blog. But I will not let my fear keep me from my enjoying my life. I will continue to look for the beauty in every day, and to continue to do the things I love, if that means shopping or blogging or drinking milkshakes. If that seems superficial then be it. We all cope in the ways we must.
To all of you who are LGBTQ, Muslim, Jewish, female, and people of color - I am with you. The world is bigger and better than hate would make it out to be. We will get through this.
In the words of one of my favorite writers (I always turn to them in times of tragedy), Samuel Beckett:
You must go on.
