This lovely little courtyard, which overlooks the little town of Vence, is right outside of the Rosary Chapel which Matisse designed. We drove there from Nice (where we had started the Matisse tour at the museum!) and it may have been my favorite day of the trip. My parents had actually been to Vence before I was born and we found the hotel they had stayed at - and we had lunch at the same cafe they did over twenty-five years ago! It was perfect: ham baguettes, Organina, french fries, and friendly local who only liked me for my ice cream...
