When packing, I usually know what activities I'll be doing ahead of time, and so try to bring things that are appropriate. Sometimes that includes a fancy dinner or concert, but even if something requiring formal wear isn't on the schedule, I'll usually bring some. Ya never know what might pop up, and I definitely agree with one Oscar Wilde that you can never be overdressed (okay maybe not never, but still). This was the case with this look - I packed my favorite Ted Baker velvet dress and these gorgeous heels just in case. And the first night we arrived in London my dad suggested we go to a famous old cocktail bar in Mayfair. Was I incredibly jet lagged? Oh yea. Do I drink cocktails? No. Do I still not really know how to take photos at night? Yep. But I am nothing if not opportunistic when it comes to outfit photos!!! Do it for the blog or whatever!! This was meant to be a classy post with some classy photos and I'm not really sure what happened.
